Delicious, nutritious and mess-free wraps
The idea of a wrap for lunch is enticing as the possibilities for fillings is endless and they taste delicious. It always ends up messy though – they leak in the wrapping and get squashed in your bag. Lunch boxes that fit a wrap are too big so they’re not much help. You need a cylindrical container to keep a wrap in great condition and mess-free right up to the last bite. The following idea is both economical AND environmentally friendly as it repurposes a common household product and turns it into the perfect wrap container. These have been tried and tested even in underground coal mines where sometimes the only place to store your lunch is in a pocket or inside your jacket. If it works in those conditions, you can be assured it will work anywhere and it will look really cool too. Here’s how:
- Use an empty gap filler container. Push out the piston to open the tube from the nozzle end. Use this as the lid to your wrap if you wish.
- Wash the two parts thoroughly with warm dishwashing liquid or in the dishwasher. This is your new food container.
- Follow the images to make your wrap – rectangular flat bread with fillings up one side. Roll the wrap tightly and place on cling wrap or similar, wrap as usual.
- Insert the finished wrap into your new wrap container and pop on the lid. Throw it in your bag, on the backseat or inside your jacket as you head to work and it will be in perfect condition every time.
